Instructions for operation of bipolar PROM programmer for 32x8 bit PROMs. Originally intended for [unknown brand of] 82S23 or 82S123 bipolar PROMs. The programming for other brands of similar chips may require different voltages, currents, and times. The data sheets for the DM74S188 and the AM27LS08 show significant differences in the use of chip select for programming. This programmer changes the default zero bits to one bits. 1) Set Mode switch to Check. Connect 5.0 Volt and 12.5 Volt power sources. Do not turn on. 2) Insert PROM chip. 3) Turn on 5.0 Volt supply, then 12.5 Volt supply if programming. Not required to read. 4) Set address switches to address to program. Set bit select switch to bit which is to be made logical 1. 5) Set mode switch to burn position. 6) Press burn pushbutton quickly. 7) Set mode switch to check position. 8) If Red LED is off then the bit did not program. You can go back to step 5 and repeat the burn. Don't do more than about 4 times. 9) If Red LED is on then the bit is programmed. go to step 4 to do the next bit. 10) When all bits are programmed, turn off the power and remove the PROM.
